GUJRAT: Three of a family, robber shot dead

GUJRAT, Jan 13: Six people, including three members of a family and a robber, were murdered in separate incidents in different parts of the district.

Five robbers on Monday forced their entry into the house of Shafi in Jokalian village, Phalia, and held the family at gunpoint. They were collecting cash and ornaments when his son Amir Salim put up resistance. The bandits opened indiscriminate firing on the family, killing three of them and one of their accomplices on the spot.

The dead family members were identified as Amir Salim, his wife Asifa and Shamaila. The robber was identified as Ghulam Haider. He was stated to be a proclaimed offender.

Paharanwali police have registered a case. Khizar Hayat was gunned down by Ilyas and Fiaz over a minor dispute in the suburbs of Mandi Bahauddin. An employee of Rasool Barrage, Riaz, was intercepted by unidentified gunmen near Mauza Kotli Afghanan who shot him dead. The motive behind the killing could not be confirmed.
