NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Jan 7: Many people including activists of different political groups and social organizations on Tuesday took out a procession, blocked the National Highway and staged a token hunger strike against the Moro taluka Nazim.

Reports reaching here said that about 150 workers of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), PML-Q, Awami Tahreek, Pink Foundation, Wood Workers Welfare Association, Jeay Sindh Mahaz, Sports Association and Sindh Adabi Sangat participated in the protest.

The activists, led by Shahid Memon, Ghulam Haider Mahar and Ghulam Fareed Kalhoro, took out the procession from Gachero road and marched on different roads.

They also observed a token hunger strike for one hour in front of the Moro Press Club, and blocked the National Highway. Speaking on the occasion, they complained that the Moro Nazim was not taking any interest in the people problems and his attitude towards them was not fair.

They said the streets of Moro Town were not being cleaned properly, gutters were overflowing and land in Mohsin Mohalla, Khalifa Mukam, railway station, old bus stop and other areas was being encroached by mafia. But the Nazim was doing nothing, they added. The demonstrators warned that they would observe token hunger strike daily unless the encroachments were removed.
