LAHORE, May 16: The amputated body of a five-year-old boy, who was kidnapped from Atif Park, Shalamar, a couple of days ago, was found from Gujjarpura on Thursday.
Police said Usman’s father Shabbir received a phone call from the kidnappers who had demanded Rs1 million the other day. The family, however, paid Rs200,000 to the kidnappers.
On Thursday, some passers-by spotted a sack along a road in the China Scheme and informed police. The body of Usman was found when the sack was opened. The body was sent to the city mortuary for autopsy.
Shabbir, who recently returned from Saudi Arabia, told police that he had no enmity with any one. DSP (investigation) concerned said they had taken some suspects into custody and were investigating.
MURDER: Two women were murdered allegedly by their brothers in Gujjarpura on Thursday.
Police said Tahir suspected that his sister Nasira, 22, a divorcee, had relations with a man residing in Singhpura. He strangled her after an exchange of harsh words over the issue. He later courted arrest.
Irshad, 25, was stabbed to death by her brother Ashraf over the suspicion of loose morals.
The bodies were sent to the city mortuary for autopsy.
BODY FOUND: The body of an old man was found near the Minar-i-Pakistan.
Police claimed that the man seemed to be a drug addict. The body was removed to the city morgue.
ROBBERIES: Two gunmen forced their entry into the house of one Salma in Johar Town and made off with cash and jewellery worth over Rs200,000.
In the other incident, three gunmen snatched a truck (PRO-5592) from one Bakhat Rasool.
