SAHIWAL, May 16: Shah Kot police on Thursday claimed arresting three fugitives who were got released by their accomplices from the Harappa police custody on April 25.
Acting on a tip-off, the police on Thursday conducted a raid on a house and arrested three fugitives and recovered a 7MM rifle, two pistols and 30 cartridges from their possession. Police also managed to get their physical remand.
The Harappa police team headed by ASI Haq Nawaz along with three constables were escorting dacoits Maqbool alias Kooly, Raza Qasim and Muhammad Rafique to Harappa from Dera Rahim. On the bridge of LBDC Canal, their armed accomplices riding in two cars had stopped the police van, got the handcuffed outlaws released from the police custody and escaped.

Bashir Ahmed and others had an enmity with co-villager Riaz Baig. On Wednesday, Riaz Baig and Shahid Baig were on their way when armed assailants opened fire on them, killing the former instantly and injuring the latter.
Harappa police have registered a case with no arrest.
THREE KILLED: Three people were killed and 10 others were injured in traffic mishaps here on Thursday.
A car (STE-7200) going to Multan collided head-on with a truck (GLT-7497) on the Sahiwal-Lahore Road near Katorwala bypass as a result of which Sadar Din and his son Nadeem died instantly.
A speeding wagon (FDO-3266) overturned near Sukhbias river bridge on the Sahiwal-Pakpattan Road. Naveedul Haq died on the spot while 10 others sustained injuries, six of them serious.
Police have registered cases and are investigating.
