LAHORE: Work on Iqbaliat praised

LAHORE, Jan 1: Governor Khalid Maqbool on Thursday distributed awards among experts on Iqbaliat as well as students who won prominent positions in various competitions, including paintings, quiz, portrait-making and speech contests.

Ajab Khan from Dera Ismail Khan was given first prize while Saeed Akhtar got second position in topical paintings and portrait making. Muhammad Asif Raza from Gujranwala whose both hands are amputated, was awarded special prize for Allama Iqbal portrait making.

The ceremony, held at Iqbal Academy at Aiwan-i-Iqbal Complex, was also attended by Justice Dr Javed Iqbal retired, Federal Tourism and Culture Secretary Khalid Latif Chaudhry, Dr Raziuddin Hashmi, Justice Sardar Muhammad Iqbal retired as well as a large number of students.
