Hashmi's trial inside jail challenged

ISLAMABAD, Dec 31: The decision to hold the hearing of the treason case against Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi inside the Adiala Jail was challenged in the Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi bench, on Wednesday.

The initial hearing of the petition, which has been filed by PPP Senator Sardar Latif Khosa, will be held on Thursday in the court of Justice Sardar Mohammad Aslam.

Meanwhile, another petition seeking bail of the ARD leader and acting PML-N president has been filed in the Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi bench. Former minister Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Munir Ahmed Piracha, Hashmat Habib and Mr Khosa will represent Mr Hashmi.
