WANA, Feb 18: The building of Wana press club was blown up on Wednesday.
An official of the political administration said that some people had come in two cars early in the morning, planted explosives in the building and a few moments later there was a huge blast and the double-storey building was reduced to rubble.
He said that Khasadar personnel were in the building but the blast caused no casualty.
Since most of journalists had left South Waziristan because of threat to their lives, the official said, local students were using the building as a tuition centre.
The local Taliban, Maulvi Nazir, condemned the incident and accused the government of carrying out such activities to defame them.
Deputy administrator for the region Ghafoor Shah told AFP that 13 security personnel deployed at the press club remained unhurt.
