SAHIWAL, May 15: Four sisters on Tuesday reportedly disappeared mysteriously from their Model School, Jhal Road.
Humaira, Marvee, Intzaeen and Khuldoon of class 9th, 7th, 5th and 2nd, respectively, had gone to their school in a rickshaw. Daughters of PPP leader Rana Khalid Sohail of the Railway Road were suspected to be kidnapped.
On the report of their father, police have registered a hudood case against two suspect brothers — Prince Altaf and Ishtiaq Ahmad.
25-YEAR RI: A local court on Wednesday awarded 25-year hard jail each to two brothers in a murder case.
They will have to pay Rs20,000 compensation money each to the heirs of the slain student.
According to the prosecution, Abdul Sattar and Mukhtar Ahmad had killed Nayyar at Chak 97/12-L on April 27, 2000.
FOUR COPS BOOKED: Farid Town police have registered a murder case against an ASI and three constables of Kot Khadim Ali Shah police post here on Wednesday.
The post-mortem report had substantiated the torture of youth by the police.
The people had caught Ayub Sial from the local DHQ Hospital’s medical ward allegedly for pick pocketing on May 13. He was later handed over to police while his body was recovered on Tuesday from near the Baba Mast tomb. The body was shifted to the DHQ Hospital where the staff recognized the man whom they had handed over to Kot Khadim Ali Shah police post.
Relatives and other people staged a rally and demanded the arrest of policemen involved in the killing.
Taking action, the police registered a case against the ASI Bashir Ahmed and constables Naeem Sarwar, Agha Ali Shah and Nisar Ahmed. But, so far no arrest has been made.
