KHAR: Two children wounded in Khar shelling

KHAR, Jan 31: Two children were wounded, when a mortar hit a house in Mamond area of Bajaur Agency here on Friday night, while unidentified persons kidnapped a Levy Force personnel from Inayet Kali, sources said on Saturday.

Security forces were shelling militants’ hideouts in different areas of Mamond and Nawagai sub-divisions when a shell hit house of a tribesman named Faqir Khan in Sperai village.

Faqir’s two children received injuries who were shifted to the main hospital in Khar. According to the hospital sources one of the wounded children was stated to be in critical condition. An official claimed that troops used artillery and mortars and destroyed several militants’ hideouts. No casualty was reported from the area.

Officials said that security forces destroyed house of a militant identified as Imtiaz Khan in Inayet Kali. They said that Imtiaz was allegedly involved in kidnapping of officials.

Meanwhile, unidentified persons kidnapped Levy man Wali Khan from bypass road near Inayet Kali and shifted him to an undisclosed location.
