GUJRAT, May 14: The members of the local Bar association observed a complete strike on Tuesday to protest against the attitude of Mandi Bahauddin SP.

Earlier, an emergent meeting of the Bar, presided over by its president Qazi Bashir, was informed that SP Suleman Chaudhry refused to meet a seven-member delegation of lawyers after keeping them standing outside his office for half an hour.

The delegation comprised Bar president and some senior lawyers. They wanted to inform the SP that police had implicated lawyer Akram Gondal in some fabricated cases.

The lawyers also passed a resolution against the SP, demanding immediate transfer of the SP.

They vowed to observe a province-wide strike if their demand was not met within a week.
