SHIKARPUR, Jan 25: Two bandits were killed while SPO Garhi Yasin and three constables were injured in an encounter with outlaws in Roos Marfani village in Golo Daro forest area early on Sunday morning.

According to police, two days ago armed men had kidnapped constable Rehan Mangi and snatched two official rifles from him and a PC Jamaluddin Sanjrani near Barri Begari Canal on the Shikarpur—Jacobabad road in the jurisdiction of Humayoon police station.

Police received information that the kidnapped constable was in the captivity of outlaws in the Roos Marfani village in Golo Daro forest area.

Heavy police contingents called in from other police stations raided the village and nearby areas to recover the kidnapped constable early in the morning. The raid resulted in an exchange of fire between the police and the outlaws.

SPO Ghulam Ali Brohi, PC Imdad Ali Jogi, PC Nisar Ahmed and PC Mohammaduddin Sanjrani sustained bullet injuries.

They were taken to the Shikarpur Civil Hospital. Later, SPO Ghulam Ali Brohi and constable Imdad Ali Jogi were referred to Larkana hospital.

Sources said that police set on fire some houses in the village during the raid.

The search operation was continuing for recovery of the kidnapped constable.

According to latest reports, five outlaws namely Haji, Gulsher, Sudheer, Lundo and Ali Nawaz all by caste Marfanis and two women Ms Fatima, Mumtaz Begum and a boy Muhammad Ayub 10, of village Roos Marfani were injured during the exchange of fire.

SPO Sultankot confirmed that two outlaws had been killed and three others were injured.
