KARACHI, Jan 16: A 75-member delegation of parliamentarians, lawyers, businessmen and civil bureaucracy visited the Pakistan Navy Dockyard on Friday and witnessed the process of ship-building.
They were given a detailed briefing about the ongoing development projects of the Pakistan Navy and were apprised of the indigenous ship and submarine construction capabilities of PN Dockyard.
The delegation was also briefed on the future ventures of PN Dockyard with special emphasis on F-22 P frigates project being undertaken in collaboration with China. The delegates also visited an indigenously-built Agosta class submarine.
The visit is a part of a five-week national security workshop organised by the National Defence University for the promotion of civil-military interaction and cooperation.
