TOBA TEK SINGH, Jan 13: Hundreds of farmers staged a sit-in at Thana Chowk in Kamalia against the non-availability of urea fertiliser. The traffic remained blocked for more than one hour on Kamalia-Chichawatni and Kamalia-Toba roads.

They raised slogans against the government for its failures to supply the commodity at government's price of Rs660 per bag. Farmers alleged dealers were selling fertiliser at Rs850 per bag.

Kamalia Deputy District Officer (revenue) Shahid Zaman Lak assured the farmers that fertiliser would be available from Wednesday (today).

Also, clerks of all government departments observed a pen-down strike at the call of All Pakistan Clerks Association. They demanded raise in their salaries and allowances.
