RAWALPINDI, Jan 12: Hundreds of political workers, traders and human rights activists here on Monday condemned Israel for committing mass slaughter of innocent Palestinians in Gaza and asked the international community to impose sanctions on Israel.

These protesters gathered at the Press Club Rawalpindi and marched towards the Committee Chowk, chanting full throat slogans against Israel and USA. They were also holding banners and placards condemning the aggression in Gaza.

The rally was led by opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. However, he could not address the rally due to his engagements.

Speaking on the occasion, PML-N leaders Ahsan Iqbal and Hanif Abbasi criticised the silence of the so-called international community led by the USA on the carnage of innocent Palestinians.

They said Israel seemed intent to occupy Palestine by executing the Palestinians and asked the UN to play its role to stop the bloodshed immediately.

The protesters asked the government to announce humanitarian aid for the homeless Palestinians and appealed to the people to express their anger by participating in the demonstrations on a large scale.

They said the Jewish state had resorted to state terrorism that was being supported by America whose weaponry and financial resources Israel was using against the helpless Palestinians.

They called for convening of the all parties’ conference (APC) to discuss the Israeli atrocities. They said Israel was hell-bent on destroying the entire infrastructure in Palestine.
