ATTOCK, Jan 11: National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) seized 340 bags of wheat from a truck and arrested two persons on Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1) on Sunday.

ASP Faziuddin said a wheat-laden truck (TKG-246) was singled to stop by the NHMP officials on M-1 near Lakori village but the driver opened fire on them and sped away. However, the truck was intercepted after some distance by the officials arrested two persons, Naeem Khan and Sheren Khan, residents of Parachinar. Five of their accomplices managed to escape from the scene, he said. —Correspondent
