Kite-flyers flout ban

LAHORE, Jan 11: Nonchalant kite-lovers engaged in their favourite sport ignoring the police warnings and action in different parts of city on Sunday.

Kites were seen flying in many city areas, especially Gawalmandi, Bund Road localities and areas of Iqbal Town, Gulshan Ravi, Samanabad and Millat Park.

People frequently fly kites on Sundays despite tall claims made by the police high ups that strict directions had been issued to check the practice and that SHOs concerned would be ‘held responsible’ for not controlling it in their respective jurisdictions.

ARRESTS: Police claimed to have arrested 20 people for flouting ban on kite-flying and registered as many cases in different areas.

In Iqbal Town nine such cases were registered followed by the City division where the number was seven.
