GUJRANWALA, Jan 11: Motorcycle-rickshaw owners have protested hike in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices and demanded the district administration take an immediate action against LPG dealers for undue profiteering.
At a meeting held here on Sunday, motorcycle-rickshaw owners’ association leaders Ustad Saleem, Haji Pervaiz Iqbal, Latif Ahmad, Noor Zaman and Khalid said the government fixed LPG price at Rs58 per kilo but dealers were selling it against Rs100 to Rs110 per kg.
They gave 48-hour deadline to the district administration to get LPG prices reduced otherwise they would block the G.T. Road after parking their vehicles.
On the other hand, LPG dealers’ association president Haji Faqir Hussain said that LPG was short across the province which was indeed causing the crises. He alleged that motorcycle-rickshaw owners were charging excessive fare from passengers.
