JUP condemns Israeli raids

MIRPURKHAS, Jan 6: Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan, Mirpurkhas district chapter has condemned attacks and killing of innocent Palestinians, including women and children by the Israeli forces.

A meeting of the JUP was presided over by the District President Mohammad Sadiq Saeedi here on Tuesday. Vice-president of JUP Sindh Allama Mohammad Sharif Saeedi also attended the meeting.

The meeting also decided to stage a protest demonstration on Friday at Market Chowk against Israel aggression, unannounced loadshedding, lawlessness and widespread unemployment.

PROTEST: Activists of the Sindh Para Veterinary Staff Association staged a demonstration and observed token hunger strike outside the local press club here on Tuesday in protest against delay in upgradation of service structure of stock assistants and livestock inspectors by the Sindh government.

Mohammad Akbar Mastoi and Sher Mohammad Panhwar said that the Sindh High Court had, four months back, ordered to upgrade the stock assistant and livestock inspectors but the court order was not implemented.

They further said that Chief minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah had approved the upgradation summary but the staff was being kept waiting.

DCO: Ghulam Hussain Memon had taken over the charge of DCO Mirpurkhas with Abdul Rahim Soomro transferred.

Abdul Rahim Soomro speaking during the farewell party on Tuesday said that he had tried to improve the system and bring about changes during his tenure. He said after strict checking and completion of formalities that he issued budget to departments.

He said that he was leaving hefty budget of district government in the account and journalists should strictly watch its utilisation for judicious dispensing.

PROCESSION: Alam and Zuljinah procession was taken out from Azakhana Zohra at Chakki Para here on Tuesday under strict security. Vehicular traffic was stopped from M.A Jinnah road. Participants beat their chests while elegies were read. Procession passed from different areas and roads and ended at the railway station chowk. Earlier, a Majlis was held at Azakhana Zohra which was addressed by Allama Ibrahim Abidi.
