Wapda workers stage demo

KHAIRPUR, Jan 2: The members of the Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, union leader Wali Mohammad Leghari said that Hesco line superintendent Abdul Ghaffar Junejo was being issued threats by some influential persons of Nara taluka.

He said that one Zahid Ali Ujjan was slightly injured due to electric shock while working at his tubewell some time ago after which some influential persons of the area were extending threats to the Hesco line superintendent and other staff.

He said that Ujjan had given a written statement that he had received electric shock at his private tubewell and the Hesco officials were not responsible for it.

Abdul Qayoom, Mr Tariq and other local leaders of the union also spoke on the occasion.
