ISLAMABAD, Jan 1: Union leaders of banks and financial institutions have demanded reinstatement of sacked employees and opposed increase in office timings of banks without enhancing wages commensurate with the duty hours.

They also opposed the Removal from Service Ordinance 2000. “These are black laws,” Malik Mohammad Hussain, chairman of the Federal Organisation for Banks and Financial Institutions Employees, told Dawn.

He also demanded that the labour class should also be given representation in the Senate and National Assembly. The unionists also called for repeal of amended section 27-B of the Banking Company Ordinance 1997 and Removal from Service Ord 2000.

They said that massive corruption and loot and plunder was going on in banks and financial institutions and demanded that a commission be formed to fix responsibility for any such mal-practices.
