Two die in accidents

OKARA, Dec 28: Two people died and 11 others were injured in two incidents due to dense fog here on Sunday.

A Lahore-bound train 119 from Samma Satta knocked down a car on an unmanned railway level-crossing near Haveli Lakkha.

Fayyaz Ahmad, of Mehtab Roy, was traveling to Haveli Lakkha by his car along with his nephew Irfan Riaz and children Tehreem, Rehan, Samra and Areeba.

When he was crossing the rail lines, the Samma Satta Express hit the car leaving Fayyaz and Irfan died while Tehreem and Rehan were shifted to Lahore in a critical condition while Samra and Areeba were admitted to the Haveli Lakkha Rural Health Centre in stable condition.

In another fog-related incident on Okara–Deepalpur Road, two vans collided with each other and seven commuters were injured and shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital and Additional DHQ (South City) Hospital.—Correspondent
