LAHORE, Dec 27: Thick fog continued to blanket the plains of Punjab for the second day running on Saturday, badly affecting air, rail and road traffic.

In Lahore, flight schedule was greatly affected during the early hours of the day, causing inconvenience to the people. A similar situation was witnessed at the railway station where many trains could not depart because of the fog.

Traffic was closely monitored by the motorway police because thick fog made visibility poor. Motorists had to drive with the headlights of their vehicles on till 10am.

According to the meteorological office, fog was developing in the plains of Punjab because of clear sky, calm wind, increased humidity in the air and low temperatures.
