MIRPURKHAS, Dec 23: A tough contest is expected in the annual elections of the Mirpurkhas District Bar Association on Wednesday wherein 400 lawyers would exercise their right to vote.

The contest is between the United and Friends panels. Earlier, the United panel was called Leghari panel, which was renamed this year.

The Leghari panel had complete hold in the bar for last many years later some lawyers formed the Friends panel to contest the polls against it.

Former District Bar Association president Salahuddin Panhwar had already withdrawn his candidature.

Now Gulab Khan will contest for the post of president from the Friends panel, who is facing senior lawyer Shamsuddin Shaikh of the United panel.
