LAHORE, May 12: The central working committee of the PML (QA) is meeting in Islamabad on Monday (today) to discuss the efforts so far taken for the unification of various factions of the Muslim League.
The committee will also plan its strategy for the general elections as party president Mian Azhar, Chaudhry Shujaat Husain, Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri, Fakhr Imam and others left for Islamabad here on Sunday.
Before departure, Mian Azhar told partymen about his Karachi visit and meeting with Jamaat-i-Islami leaders. He said all patriotic parties wanted restoration of democracy to come out of crisis being faced by the country.
Terming the CWC meeting an important event, PML foreign affairs committee chief Mian Abdul Waheed criticized the elements in the PML (N) folds which were opposing the unification efforts. He blamed them for the Oct 12, 1999 military takeover.
