Cabinet endorses cooperation offer

ISLAMABAD, Dec 17: The cabinet on Wednesday endorsed the government’s offer to cooperate with India in investigating the Mumbai terror attacks and its decision to take action if the latter provided proof. It also approved the decision not to extradite any Pakistani.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani informed the cabinet about steps taken to defuse the situation.

He reiterated the government’s desire to maintain friendly relations with neighbouring countries and said that Pakistan was looking for resumption of composite dialogue with India.

Sources quoted the prime minister as saying that despite Pakistan’s repeated offers, the Indian government had not yet shared any information about investigations.

The cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding signed with Ukraine on military and defence production.

An agreement to enhance military and defence relations with Indonesia was also approved.

The cabinet decided to ratify the charter of Saarc Development Fund which would come into force after ratification by all member states.
