LAHORE, Dec 17: Five Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) officials have been arrested for robbery.
According to a handout issued on Wednesday, Muhammad Kashif, a trader of artificial jewellery, of Sheikhupura district, wrote to CIA SP Umer Virk that one month ago he was travelling to Lahore along with his relatives in a car when five policemen stopped them near Saggian Bridge. During the search, policemen found artificial jewellery in the car and took them to Darbar Haider Sain in the Lorry Adda area.
The policemen snatched Rs32,000 in cash, a watch, a trouser and shirt at gunpoint and asked them to go away.
An inquiry found all the five officials guilty.
The CIA SP got registered a case against constables Javed Ahmed, Rana Ayub, Amjad, Saleem and an unidentified policeman with the Lorry Adda police station.
