SIALKOT, Dec 17: The Gujranwala circle of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claim to have arrested Sialkot-based human trafficker Zakaullah from Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, just before his departure for Spain after a month long stay in Pakistan.
He was wanted by the FIA for the last four years in several cases of human trafficking.
The agency said Zaka was scheduled to fly to Doha through Qatar Airline from where he had to fly to Madrid-Spain, when the FIA arrested him on Tuesday.
Zaka’s accomplice Amanullah alias Mithu managed his escape. Amanullah was also wanted by FIA in several human smuggling cases. Zakaullah has been sent behind the bars. Further investigation is under way.
Protest: Scores of people on Wednesday staged a protest against the killing of local trader Muhammad Shafiq by some unidentified accused in Model Town, Uggoki.
Protesters blocked traffic on main Sialkot-Sambrial-Wazirabad Road near Nole-Uggoki for about 30 minutes, burnt tyres and demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
Senior police officials reached the spot and assured the protesters of early arrest of killers. On this, the protesters dispersed peacefully.
Uggoki police have registered a case and shifted the body to Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial DHQ Hospital for autopsy.
Police have started investigation with no arrest in this regard.
