LAHORE, Dec 13: A meeting of district emergency officers was held at the Punjab Emergency Services (PES) Academy on Saturday to review the disaster management plan for all major cities of the province.

According to a release, PES director-general Dr Rizwan Naseer discussed state of preparedness with district emergency officers to deal with potential hazards, like incidents of bomb blast, fire, sporadic firing, road accident, plane crash, rail accident, building collapse and earthquake.

District emergency officers were also given guidelines to evaluate emergency preparedness and formulate emergency plans for their respective districts.

Dr Naseer directed the officers to further strengthen the emergency response system and hold emergency exercises on periodical basis.—Staff Reporter
