FAISALABAD, Dec 11: Nearly one dozen shops at Anarkali’s Bhawana Bazaar caught fire on Wednesday night, leaving fabrics worth millions in ashes.
A fire erupted at the cloth market of Bhawana Bazaar reportedly due to a short-circuit. The Rescue 1122 teams doused the flames in two hours. Fabrics worth Rs9 million were reduced to ashes.
No casualty was reported. Some eyewitnesses said the area people informed the Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company (Fesco) about the incident well in time, but its employees took nearly 45 minutes to reach the spot. They said the employees were on foot instead of approaching the spot with required machinery or equipment.
