Explosives found from Alhamra

LAHORE, Dec 7: A package full of explosives was found from the premises of Alhamra Hall on The Mall on Sunday, police said.

Bomb Disposal Squad officials defused the material, which weighed two kilogrammes.

A police official told Dawn that a constable deployed at the hall was informed by the watchman of the hall about the presence of a package in Burni Park, adjacent to Alhamra Hall.

He said police called bomb disposal squad which defused the material. The official said explosives were not time devices but active.

He said no activity was taking place at Alhamra at the time of the seizure of the explosives.

A large number of policemen were present at the spot and a sweeping was conducted in the building for security reasons. — Staff Reporter
