GUJRAT, Dec 5: A couple was shot dead over a domestic dispute in Baru village of Karianwala late on Thursday.

Reports said Faryad Husain along with accomplices shot dead Muneer Ahmad and his second wife, Iqbal Bibi, when they were asleep. However, his first wife and a minor daughter survived the attack.

Karianwala police have registered a case against Faryad Husain, Sajjad and Arfan on the report of Muneer’s brother Ghulam Shabeer.

In another incident, a man was murdered allegedly by his wife’s former husband in Chak Qaim of Sarai Alamgeer Sadar police precincts on Friday.

Waseem Abbas of Khursheed Colony was going along with his wife, Sidra Bibi, and mother when Zafar Iqbal and seven accomplices shot him dead.

Police said accused Zafar Iqbal of Chak Qaim had divorced Sidra Bibi and then married to her sister, Humaira, a few months ago. Sidra Bibi married Abbas three months ago. Now Iqbal was forcing Sidra to remarry him after getting divorce from Abbas.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.
