KARACHI, Dec 5: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that it is a responsibility of the government to provide security of life and property to people.
The chief minister said in opening remarks at an all-party conference on Friday that the government had decided to take all parties into confidence on the security situation.
The conference was attended by local leaders of 32 political and religious parties, including the PPP, MQM, ANP, JI, PML-N, JUI-F, ST, PML-Q and the NPP.
The chief minister claimed that during the past seven months “no big tragedy has occurred, except the untoward incidents of Nov 29, 30, Dec 1 and 2, leaving 35 people dead”. He said the government would restore peace in Sindh, particularly in Karachi, with the cooperation of political parties.
