QUETTA, Dec 5: The Utility Stores Corporation has decided to sack about 600 daily wage employees in Balochistan and 60 of them received termination letters on Friday.

The employees have been working for the corporation for two years.

No reason has been given for the move, but it is said the USC has recruited new employees on recommendations of some federal ministers and MNAs.

“Over 150 new employees have been recruited on contract over the past month,” sources said.

The employees facing termination of service are planning to move the court.

Minister of Sate for Industry and Production Dr Ayatullah Durrani said that he would take up the matter in Islamabad.

“I will try to get the 60 sacked employees reinstated,” he told Dawn.—Staff Correspondent
