ISLAMABAD, Dec 5: A man was killed in a road accident while a woman was found dead from a nullah here on Friday, police said.

In the first incident a man, said to be in his 40s, suffered multiple injuries when a car hit him as he was crossing Islamabad Highway at Zia Masjid.

He was taken to the hospital where he died.

Later the body was shifted to the mortuary for pending identification and legal process. The body will temporarily be buried at H-11 graveyard on Saturday. The driver of the car was arrested and shifted to Adiala Jail on judicial remand.

In another incident, an unidentified woman was found dead from Kurang Nullah located on Angori Road, Bhara Kahu.

The incident came to light when some passers-by spotted the body lying in the nullah and informed the police. The police arrived at the spot and shifted the body to the hospital for legal process.

The deceased, who is believed to be in her 30s, is yet to be identified. —Staff Reporter
