PESHAWAR, Dec 5: The NWFP government has established two more offices of commissioners in Mardan and Dera Ismail Khan, putting their total number up to seven.

A notification issued here on Friday said Muhammad Khalid Khan Umerzai has been posted as commissioner Mardan and Muhammad Hamayun as commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division.

NWFP is the first province, which revived the commissionerate system that was abolished by former president Pervez Musharraf in 2001.

Initially three posts of regional coordination officers (RCOs) were created in NWFP mainly to improve coordination between different tiers of government in terms of law and order situation. — Bureau Report
