HYDERABAD, Oct 25: The activists of Jeay Sindh Students Federation (JSSF) Sindh University unit staged a protest demonstration outside the Hyderabad press club here on Thursday against the influx of Afghan refugees into Sindh and the arrest of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) chief Bashir Khan Qureshi and his deputy Dr Niaz Kalani.

Speaking at the rally, JSSF leaders Sattar Lakho and Abdur Razaque Tunio alleged that the JSQM leaders were arrested for strongly opposing the influx of Afghan refugees into Sindh and converting the province into an international orphanage.

They said that three million Afghans were already settled in Sindh and added that through the influx of the others, they will completely take over the resources of the province.

They said that the government was getting millions of dollars in aid for Afghan refugees but still they were being pushed into Sindh.

The student leaders warned if Bashir Khan Qureshi and Dr Niaz Kalani and other leaders of the JSQM were not immediately released, there would be an uprising throughout the province of Sindh.

They said that their movement had remained peaceful but it could take a violent turn if JSQM leaders were not released and the Afghan refugees influx into Sindh was not checked.
