LAHORE, Dec 3: People from Khyber to Karachi now stand united and the government should take bold steps and give a befitting reply to Indian threats instead of showing weakness, says Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi.
He was addressing a PML-Q workers’ convention held to launch the party membership drive in Muridke on Wednesday.
He said: “Muslims have a long history of sacrifices for the sake of Islam and principles and such a nation knows very well how to defend its country. The nation stands like a wall behind its patriotic defence forces.”
Mr Elahi said the police instead of guarding the PML-N leadership should do its duty of serving the people.
The PML-Q leader said at such a critical time it was shameful that the Punjab police was harassing the people on the instructions of the government and was reduced to just a ‘bodyguard force’ for the PML-N leaders.
He said false cases were being registered against the opponents of PML-N. He opposed the proposed agricultural tax and declared that the PML-Q would do all it could that such a tax was not imposed on farmers of Punjab.
