LAHORE, Dec 3: A 55-year-old man died after his brother allegedly attacked him with a brick at his residence in Islampura here on Wednesday.

Police said Saeed Ahmed Saifi and his brother, Jamshaid, living in the same house, had a quarrel over the possession of the house. They exchanged hot words after which Jamshaid hit his brother with a brick and escaped when he saw his brother dead.

A murder case was registered against the accused on the complaint of victim’s wife Naz Bibi.

A police official, however, said Saeed died owing to a cardiac arrest after the two brothers exchanged hot arguments.

“Police have registered a murder case on the insistence of the victim’s family,” he said.

BOY DIES: A minor boy expired at a hospital shortly after he was pulled out of a pond on Ghazi Road on Wednesday.

An official of the Edhi Ambulance Service said three-year-old Shahzad, son of Muhammad Tariq of Firdaus Park, Chungi Amar Sadhu, fell into the pond while playing outside his house. The area people and rescuers recovered the boy in an unconscious state and shifted him to the Lahore General Hospital where he died.

Factory Area police said the body had been handed over to the family after necessary formalities.
