QUETTA, Dec 2: Leaders of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party have pledged to accomplish the mission of Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai to unite the divided Pakhtun areas into one province.

Addressing a seminar held here on Tuesday to mark the 35th death anniversary of the founder of the PkMAP, they pledged to continue struggle for the national rights of the Pakhtun people.

They paid tribute to late Achakzai for his untiring struggle against the British colonialism and dictatorial regimes and for Pakhtun rights.

They said for achieving the rights the late leader spent 32 years in jails.

They accused the MQM of attacking Pakhtun traders and transporters in Karachi and said that the attackers would not force the Pakhtuns to abandon their businesses in the city.

They called upon the federal and Sindh governments to protect the lives and property of Pakhtuns in Karachi and punish the elements responsible for the attacks.

Most of the speakers criticised the PPP-led coalition government for pursuing the policies of the previous government despite the fact that in the Feb 18 polls people voted for a change in the anti-democratic policies of the military ruler.

They accused the PPP leadership of deviating from the commitment to annul the 17th amendment and reinstate the deposed judges, including Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

They said there would be no political stability in the country till the recognition of equal rights of Pakhtun, Baloch, Sindhi and Seriaki provinces’ control over their resources.

They said that the government had received billions of rupees from international and domestic donors for the people affected by earthquake in Ziarat but little relief was reaching the people.
