LAHORE, Dec 2: The PIA opened its air crew medical centre at the Allama Iqbal International Airport here on Tuesday.
PIA Managing Director Aijaz Haroon, speaking on the occasion, said providing health care facilities to the airline’s employees was his priority and there would be no discrimination be it a regular, contractual or a daily wage employee.
He said contract employees would be regularised by the end of this month and the retired ones would be given a raise in pension. He said the salaries of airline staff would be increased with improvement in PIA finances.
The MD said a policy was being formulated to ensure merit and transparency in recruitment under the PIA employees’ son quota.
Haroon later gave away shields to chief medical officer Dr AQ Akund, HR director Hanif Pathan, procurement and logistics director Imran Khan, district manager (Lahore) Tariq Ismail and air crew medical centre in-charge Hasan Ibrar.
HAJ OPERATION: With the departure of two special flights to Jeddah from here on Tuesday, the PIA Haj operation is over.
