SHEIKHUPURA, Nov 30: An inmate detained in a district prison died due to illness here on Sunday, jail officials said.

The deceased’s family, however, demonstrated in front of the jail and accused the prison authorities of failing to provide him proper treatment.

The jail authorities claimed that the inmate died due to serious illness, though he was given proper medical attention. —Correspondent
