LARKANA, Nov 27: Larkana police have freed Ratodero Jewellers Association president Muhammed Soomar Khokhar from the clutches of kidnappers after a brief encounter on Thursday.
District Police Officer Larkana Irfan Baloch told journalists that the police, on intelligence, reached Garhi Khairo and found kidnappers. After a brief encounter they escaped, leaving the victim behind, he added. DPO handed over the man to his family in Ratodero.
It was learnt that the kidnapped victim was recovered from Buland Dahani’s camp on the outskirts of Garhi Khairo where he was kept in chains.
“I was kept in a hut and provided three meals daily. They (kidnappers) on Wednesday demanded Rs2 million in ransom which I refused to pay,” he told journalists.
Muhammed Soomar Khokhar after his safe return went to Mirpur Bhutto and met with the chief of Sindh National Front (SNF) Mumtaz Bhutto and Amir Bakhsh Bhutto and thanked them for their support.
Meanwhile police was still making effort to recover three persons kidnapped from ‘Wada Bossan’ (Ratodero) on Tuesday night without any clue.
Police had arrested two men Irshad Ali Bossan, brother of Oshaq Bossan, nazim of Waris Dino Mashi union council, and Serwar Bossan. The DPO Larkana Irfan Baloch claimed to have recovered kidnapped victims within few days.
The nazim talking to journalists in Ratodero on Thursday alleged that his opponents were implicating them in the case only to pressurise them from setting up new petrol pump opposite the existing one.
