Three killed in separate incidents

RAWALPINDI, Nov 26: Three persons including two women were killed in separate incidents in the city, police said on Wednesday.

Muhammad Yousaf was shot dead in Pirwadhai area on Wednesday. He was on his way home when some unidentified persons shot him dead. Police said a murder case had been registered and investigations were under way. The motive behind the murder was yet to be ascertained.

Earlier on Tuesday, a married woman was shot dead by her husband in Gulzar-a-Quaid over petty issue.

Police said Ayasha Bibi, 20, was married to Omer Gul some nine months ago and the couple started living in Gulzar-a-Quaid. Shortly after their marriage, the relations between the couple started tainting.

Again on Tuesday they had a brawl during which Omer Gul took out his pistol and shot and killed his wife and escaped.

Shawar Bibi was killed after being run over by a passenger wagon in Westridge on Tuesday. She was crossing the road when she was hit and killed by a wagon. Later the wagon driver escaped from the scene.

Robbers and thieves have deprived at least 11 persons of cash, gold ornaments and seven vehicles in different parts of Rawalpindi in last two days, police said on Wednesday.

Mohammad Qasim, one of the robbery victims, in a complaint lodged with the RA Bazar police said that he along with his friend was going home on his motorbike when two gunmen intercepted them and snatched their motorbike at gunpoint. He said the culprits also resorted to firing in the air before fleeing.

Mohammad Mumtaz, another robbery victim complained to the Wah Cantt police that two unidentified persons booked his car from Manshera for Rawalpindi. He said on reaching near Wah Cantt, the occupants of the car pulled out their pistols and snatched his vehicle and cash.

Attaullah Khan complained to the Saddar Barooni police that some burglars broke into his house and stole Rs40,000 and gold ornaments.

Dr Abdul Qadeer’s house was ransacked by some unidentified burglars in the absence of his family.

He lodged a complaint with the airport police saying that he had gone out of his house. On his return he found the locks of his house broken and households scattered inside.

On listing the goods he found gold ornaments weighing 68 tolas and 790 UK pounds were missing.

Tanveer Hussain, one of the highway robbery victims complained to the Kalar Syedan police that he was coming to Islamabad airport in a wagon no RLF-4495 to welcome his relatives when he found the road blocked.

He said as he stopped the vehicle, he found three masked gunmen around him who forced him to give up cash.

He said the robbers snatched Rs83,500 from the occupants of the vehicle and the gunmen also shot and injured another man Fida Hussain when he tried to stop them from harassing women.

Meanwhile, Syed Kausar Hussain Gillani’s car was stolen from outside his house in Wah Cantt and Shakir Bashir’s car was stolen from New Town. Nadeem Iqbal lodged a similar complaint of theft of his car with the New Town police while Malik Muhammad Kaif’s motorbike was stolen from the RA Bazar. Sohail Anjum’s car was taken away from the RA Bazar while Mudassar’s motorbike was stolen from Kahuta.

Four armed men robbed a jeweller of Rs1.2 million in cash and a huge quantity of gold ornaments in the Banni police area on Wednesday and escaped, police said.
