ISLAMABAD, Oct 25: Afghan authorities have requested the Edhi Foundation for provision of more relief goods to the war-affected people of Afghanistan.
The Foundation sources said on Thursday that Mullah Najeebullah, an official of the Afghan foreign ministry, had sent a letter to Abdul Sattar Edhi, seeking more medical help for the injured and ailing people.
The Afghan authorities requested for the supply of medicines to hospitals in different cities of Afghanistan, the sources said.
They said the Foundation was taking steps to supply a sufficient quantity of medicines and relief goods to Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Foundation said the Edhi Control Centre at the Pakistan-Afghan border had sent back 10 injured and sick people to Afghanistan after treating them at its medical unit.
He said nine injured and four ailing women had been shifted to different hospitals in Chaman and Quetta.
