QUETTA, Nov 22: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani has said that his government would not tolerate sectarian killings in the province.
He gave this assurance to demonstrators who had gathered outside the Chief Minister’s House on Saturday to protest against the murder of Allama Hasan Zakri and his bodyguard.
The two were shot dead in Dasht area on Friday evening when they were on way to Quetta from Kolpur.
Expressing grief and sorrow over the incident, Mr Raisani said that police and other law-enforcement agencies had been ordered to arrest the killers. He said that his government would protect lives and property of people.
Hundreds of people belonging to Hazara community staged a sit-in in front of the governor and chief minister’s houses against the murder of the Pesh Imam of Imambargah Punjabi and called for immediate arrest of the assailants.
They blocked the main Zarghoon road for more than four hours and chanted slogans.
