MIRPURKHAS, Nov 20: The SP Investigation Mirpurkhas, Noorul Haq Rind on Thursday initiated a probe into the case lodged at Nauabad police station, district Sanghar, on the complaint of Mohan Bheel against the landlord Thakur Nazeer Kaimkhani, his son Naeem Kaimkhani and others accused of kidnapping and torturing 119 peasants, including women and children.
Human rights activists claimed that 144 peasants were illegally confined by the landlord and on the directives of DIG Mirpurkhas Syed Zulfiqar Jamote Sanghar police conducted raids and recovered 66 detainees from the lands of different landlords.
On Thursday Mohan Bheel while recording his statement in the presence of reporters and Secretary NGOs Network Mirpurkhas Zahida Detho said that he was misguided by some people, as his wife Chothi and two children were residing at the lands of Ghulam Qadir Mari in taluka Khipro of their will.
Secretary NGOs Network Mirpurkhas Zahida Detho argued with SP Investigation Mirpurkhas and Thakur Nazeer Kaimkhani and asked them to bring the remaining 78 peasants before media and NGOs so that they could apprise them whether they were living of their free will.
SP Investigation sustained the point raised by Ms Detho and said that 78 peasants would soon be brought before media and NGOs.
