HYDERABAD, Nov 20: The Hyderabad circuit bench of the Sindh High Court on Thursday suspended action on offer letters for two posts of professors and issued notices to chief secretary of Sindh, chairman of Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC), Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and two private respondents to appear in court on Dec 3.

The court issued the order on a petition filed by Dr Mir Mohammad Saheto who had challenged recommendations of SPSC for private respondents Dr Akbar Ali Soomro and Dr Ameer Hamza Dahiri.

The petitioner, who was represented by Ansari Abdul Latif, felt aggrieved by SPSC’s press release dated Sept 24, which neglected him for the post of professor of pathology.

He said that the SPSC recommended Soomro, a non-teaching pathologist and Dahiri, who still had to get two research papers published in standard medical journals.

He said that in spite of these disqualifications, the two candidates were never proceeded against by SPSC under “Guilty of Violation of Rules” but were declared successful.

He said that he felt aggrieved and prejudiced against and challenged the legality of recommendations. He prayed to court to declare that Dr Soomro and Dr Dahiri were disqualified on closing date of SPSC’s advertisement for the said posts.
