MULTAN, Nov 19: The Multan chapter of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has issued notices to three of its members for not boycotting court proceedings on Monday to protest the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) decision to suspend the licence of Peshawar High Court Bar Association president Abdul Latif Afridi.

Notices were issued to three People’s Lawyers Forum (PLF) members, Arif Alvi, Altaf Ibraheem and Chaudhry Ashraf, who refused to boycott the court proceedings.

LHCBA Multan chapter secretary-general Rana Naveed Ahmed said the lawyers who violated the bar decision to boycott court proceedings have been asked to explain their position. He said their membership would be suspended if they failed to clarify their position within three days.—Staff Correspondent
