OKARA, Nov 18: A man shot his daughter, son-in-law and grandson dead allegedly to preserve his ‘honour’ on Tuesday.
Nazra’s daughter Najma had married Muhammad Asghar of Tatthi Kalason village near Renala Khurd for love two years ago.
On Tuesday, Nazra and his sons Sultan and Ramzan came from Kasur, stormed Asghar’s house and opened fire on the inmates, killing Najma, Asghar and their 14-month-old son Rizwan on the spot. Bodies were sent for autopsies and a case was registered against the fleeing assailants.
STABBED: A man stabbed his wife to death allegedly over domestic issues in Gogera village on Monday night.
Farooq had married Shagufta, of Chak 38/2-L, but they were issueless and often had an argument on this count.
On Monday night, they quarreled again and frustrated Farooq later stabbed his wife to death. He also set his house ablaze after murdering his wife. The police registered a case against Farooq and his two accomplices.
DEMO: Activists of Deepalpur Jamaat-i-Islami held a demonstration against an alleged land grabber and revenue officials in front of press club here on Tuesday to protest the embezzlement of nine acres of agricultural land belonging to two orphan sisters, Rabia and Aasia.
JI activists led by Dr. Liaqat Ali Kusar marched from press club to district courts complex and chanted slogans against Ghulam Muhammad Tandd, who allegedly grabbed the land in connivance with area tehsildar and patwari.
The protesters urged Commissioner Tariq Mehmood Khan and DCO Sohail Shahzad to take notice of the incident.
