GUJRANWALA, Nov 16: Farmers have warned the government against imposition of 18 per cent tax on agriculture under International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) pressure and threatened that they would take to the street against any such decision.
At a meeting here on Sunday with their representative Javed Manj in the chair, farmers accused the government of procuring rice through middlemen at low price. They asked the government not to accept any IMF conditions regarding tax on agriculture.
TICKETS: Driving licence tickets are not available at almost all post offices in the city. As a result, people are facing problems in getting new licences and renewal of old licences.
It is said that some post office officials are involved in black marketing of these tickets.
The senior postmaster at the General Post Office said that Gujranwala division was given all tickets of its share in the beginning of the year. He said now these tickets would be issued only in the new year.
